Our values
Small Batch
Red Poppy is intentionally small scale, creating flowers for weddings and events only. Inspired floral design is artistry and craftsmanship - and that takes time and dedication. We take just a few events each month so that we can thoughtfully plan, order, design and set-up for each. Tracy will be with you every step of the way, so that when changes and adjustments are being made, she knows the full context of your event and can ensure the cohesiveness of your design and delivery of your vision. The team is Tracy and the best freelance designers in town, and we’re not rushing to complete multiple events in one week or day. We are right there as long as it takes to get everything perfect, and the same is true through the design process.
Sustainable & Local
We aim to be a force for good within our industry - composting our floral waste, minimizing our use of plastics and floral foam, packaging almost entirely in recycled paper/compostable materials, investing in quality reusable vases and materials. Our amazing local flower farmers allow us to source much of our flowers locally - bringing special, delicate, seasonal specialties into our flower designs while reducing our carbon footprint. We are able to do orders entirely with locally grown or US/Canadian grown flowers.
Detail-Oriented
There are no do-overs with wedding flowers; we focus on details and take the time to make things beautifully.

Tracy has been working on weddings and events in Ann Arbor for over 15 years. We know these venues very well, and we want to share all of our insight and expertise about what works well in your event space, what challenges there might be that we can help with. In addition to Tracy, you’ll have some of the most talented and experienced freelance floral designers working on your event.

About Tracy
Hi, I'm Tracy, proud owner and lead designer of Red Poppy.
For me it all started when I trained in professional floristry at the Jane Packer Studio while living in London and working as an economist. Floral design was my evening hobby, and I loved riding the bus home with armloads of flowers! When we moved to Ann Arbor, I began working for a florist on the weekends while working in research at the University of Michigan. I slowly started doing flowers for friends and family, and then Red Poppy was born.
Today, everything is made in my in-home studio with an emphasis on beautiful, natural elements, lush textures, elegant simplicity - letting the flowers and foliages speak for themselves.
I want to really understand what each client loves and to have plenty of time to spend hours on that bridal bouquet to get it just perfect, so small batch floristry became our model. I love what I do and look forward to bringing your wedding and event florals to life!
Process & Pricing
New clients have an initial consultation, usually by phone/facetime, for around an hour. We discuss design elements for the day, the overall look/feel for the event, and your top priorities for the flowers. We’ll ask your target budget range – knowing your style and budget helps us put together our best proposal for you.
In this consultation, I’ll prioritize maximizing floral impact. Having created weddings and events in the area for over 15 years, I know these venues well, so I offer my experience on spaces to highlight, areas where guests linger, structures and vases that work really well. Often times we prioritize creating a large focal piece or two for the ceremony and reception to give you a memorable “wow” moment in the space. Every event has a budget, whether it’s $2,000 or $20,000, I want to help you get the most impact for your floral design investment.
Bridal bouquets start at $250 and up (most of those featured on the website are $300-$400), and bridesmaids bouquets are usually 1/3/-1/2 the bridal bouquet price. Boutonnieres start at $18 and up, and corsages at $30 and up. Centerpieces start at $125 (most of those featured on the website are $150 and up) and tall centerpieces start at $300. Mini centerpieces start at around $60.
We offer full event services, with set-up, delivery, and collection of rentals in the Ann Arbor area, with delivery available to Metro Detroit for larger orders. There may be a minimum order required for delivery and set-up during peak season. We also offer self-pick up in Ann Arbor for bouquets and boutonnieres only or other smaller orders. Whether large or small, each order gets our attention to design and detail, and we look forward to working with you to create something special!
